How To Use The Alver Energy Mobile App

The Alver Energy app helps you monitor your electricity meter, check your balance, view consumption, and top up your meter from your phone.

Download The App

Scan the QR code below or tap the Play Store link to install the Alver Energy app on your Android device.

Login Details

Your login credentials will be provided by the property caretaker, property manager, or Alver Energy support team.

For most users, your username is your meter number.

If you do not have login details, please contact your caretaker or property manager.

What You Can Do In The App

With the mobile app, you can:

  • View your current meter balance
  • See your balance in both kWh and KSh
  • Check whether your meter is online
  • View recent top-ups and transactions
  • Track your electricity consumption
  • Check consumption for a selected date range
  • Top up your meter using M-Pesa
  • Update your phone number and password
  • Contact support when you need help

How To Top Up In The App

  1. Open the app and log in.
  2. Go to the Home screen.
  3. Tap Top Up Balance.
  4. Enter the amount you want to pay.
  5. Confirm your phone number.
  6. Approve the M-Pesa prompt on your phone.
  7. Wait for the app to update your balance.

Your payment is loaded to the meter after the meter confirms the update. This may take a short moment.

Manual M-Pesa PayBill Top-Up

You can also top up manually through M-Pesa. Use:

Please make sure the account number is your exact meter number. If you enter the wrong meter number, your payment may not load automatically.

Understanding Your Balance

The app may show two balances:

  • kWh balance: The electricity units available on your meter.
  • KSh balance: The money value of your balance based on the current tariff.

The meter balance is the final confirmed balance.

Checking Consumption

To check your usage:

  1. Open the Home screen.
  2. Tap Check Consumption by Date.
  3. Select the date or date range.
  4. View your total consumption in kWh.

This helps you understand how much electricity you used over a specific period.

If Your Balance Does Not Update

If you paid but the app has not updated:

  1. Wait a short while for the meter to confirm the top-up.
  2. Pull down on the screen to refresh.
  3. Confirm that you paid to the correct meter number.
  4. Check your transaction history in the app.
  5. If it still does not update, contact your caretaker, property manager, or support.

When asking for help, provide:

  • Your meter number
  • M-Pesa receipt number
  • Amount paid
  • Time of payment
  • Phone number used for payment

If You Cannot Log In

If you cannot log in:

  • Confirm your username and password with the caretaker or property manager.
  • Make sure you are using the correct meter number as your username.
  • If your password was reset, use the latest password provided.
  • Contact support if the issue continues.

If Your Meter Shows Offline

If your meter appears offline:

  • Check your phone internet connection.
  • Pull down to refresh the app.
  • Wait a few minutes and check again.
  • Contact the caretaker or property manager if it remains offline.
